Winsom Farm

Started in 1990
Located about 40 miles south of Chicago loop
Full eventing venue including:
30 acres of cross country fences. Starter Novice through Training levels.
Over 60 fences.  Many logs, coups and tables but also includes fantasy jumps like castles, tractors, ducks to name a few.  Also includes a water complex, banks, ditches and small hills.
The farm includes two sand dressage arenas and a fenced-in grass stadium arena.
Indoor arena for winter practice and lessons, warm-up jump area, office complex, heated tack room, turnout pastures and the wide open spaces of Illinois farmland as well as smaller wooded areas.
Steve Farkos, owner/trainer, has qualified over 60 rider/horse combinations for area IV championships.  Steve is proud to have both the 2012 Area IV Beginner Novice Champion and the Novice Reserve Champion boarding/training at Winsom!
Winsom Farm runs an annual Eventing Training Camp in April.  Over 30 riders participated in 2013.
In May Winsom hosts a  payback mini-event in which riders can compete for prize money in addition to ribbons.
In June, Winsom is the location for an IDCTA recognized show featuring Dressage, Combined Training and Mini-Event.  This year a total of 75 rides occured during  this Triple Show.
July and August are the dates that Winsom hosts two Jumper Shows offering classes through Mini-Prix and payback classes. Timed course runs, fun and friendly but fierce competition are part of these day-long events.
A dual show is hosted in October featuring another Mini-Event and Dressage competition.
Several clinics, featuring outside clinicians, are hosted during the year's less busy times.
The Winsom team travels to Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Kansas, Iowa and Wisconsin both for recognized 3-day Events and Dressage shows, and schooling shows where we can fit them in.
