Volunteers Drive Our Sport
Volunteers are the lifeblood of eventing. Without volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to compete. Because the USEA recognizes how important our volunteers are, there is a Volunteer Committee and a Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP – also known as Very Important People). To learn more about the VIP, CLICK HERE
Area IV's 2017 Volunteer of the Year, Kristina Whorton with USEA President Carol Kozlowski at the Area IV Annual Meeting in Overland Park, KS.
Because Area IV also knows volunteers are very important, we have a Leaderboard for volunteers and the top eight volunteers are honored and receive prizes at the Area IV Annual Meeting. If the Horse Trials you volunteer at is not yet using eventingvolunteers.com to track volunteer hours, tell them to contact their Area Chairperson for information on how to use it, so you can be on the Leaderboard, too!
So you’re new to volunteering and wonder what you can do? Contact any organizer of a Horse Trials near you and we guarantee they’ll put you to work! How to find organizer contact info?
Want to know what types of jobs are available?
Some jobs require training, some require knowing the rules, but other jobs just require you to show up and be willing to work!
There are example videos HERE of our dynamic volunteers in action.
